ABOUT AFDA
AFDA, the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance is a private higher education institution which offers a wide range of degrees in film, television, live performance and business innovation.AFDA has campuses across the country, specifically within Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Botswana as well as being internationally recognized.
A number of AFDA films have been exhibited at international festivals and winning a number of awards, including a student Oscar in 2006.
As an institution, AFDA is culturally invested in the student body, offering a unique higher education environment where outcome-based and collaborative learning empowers students with competitive, professional and innovative skills to enter the industry.
Annually, each AFDA campus holds a Graduation Festival which provides the 3rd years an opportunity in which to showcase their Experimental productions and acts as a platform in which to launch each individual's career.
At the Graduation Festival which will be held on the 24th of November, there will be a number of films and television productions on show which provides members of the public and the industry to watch these productions both online and at Gateway: Ster-Kinekor at 16:30 on the 27th of Nov.
At the 2021 Experimental Festival, there will be 8 undergraduate film productions with a running time of 12 minutes and two undergraduate documentaries with a running time of 20 minutes.
